- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes (tinned)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté diced onions until translucent and add minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey to the skillet, breaking apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until no pink remains.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let simmer while cooking the pasta.
- Cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and reserve some pasta water.
- Combine cooked pasta with the turkey mixture and half of the mozzarella cheese in a mixing bowl.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
