  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 black olives, halved
  • Ketchup or marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Roll mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  5. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface; cut into strips and wrap each meatball like a mummy.
  6. Place half an olive on each wrapped meatball for eyes.
  7. Bake again for another 15-20 minutes until pastry is golden brown.
