  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the tops off the bell peppers and remove their seeds. Set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté the onions until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add ground meat, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (7-10 minutes).
  5. Stir in cooked rice and tomato sauce; simmer for 5 minutes to combine flavors.
  6. Stuff each bell pepper with the filling and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Place stuffed peppers in a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden brown.
