Description

Start your Halloween morning with these whimsical and delicious Halloween Mummy Breakfast Rolls! Flaky puff pastry wraps around savory breakfast sausage and gooey cheese, creating a delightful treat that’s perfect for family gatherings or spooky brunches. These adorable mummy rolls are not only fun to make but also fill your kitchen with a mouthwatering aroma that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 4 breakfast sausage links (your choice of spicy or mild)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp water (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp olive oil (for greasing the baking tray)
  • Sliced black olives (optional, for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry into a rectangle.
  3. Slice each sausage link in half lengthwise and place one half at one end of each pastry strip. Roll tightly, leaving space for mummy wrappings.
  4. Cut thin strips from the remaining pastry and wrap them around each roll, leaving gaps for a bandaged look.
  5. Prepare an egg wash by whisking together the egg and water, then brush over the tops of the rolls.
  6. If using olives, place them on top for eyes before baking.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed up, then let cool slightly before serving.
