  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 34 tbsp water (as needed)
  • Black olive slices (for decoration)
  • Bat and ghost-shaped cookie cutters

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Gradually add water until a smooth dough forms; it should be soft but not sticky.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out bat and ghost shapes.
  6. Place shapes on an ungreased baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Dot each cracker with black olive slices before baking for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
