- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix in flour, sugar, and salt until crumbly.
- Stir in eggs, melted butter, and vanilla until well combined.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Roll out dough to half an inch thick and cut into squares or rectangles.
- Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry each piece until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
