Instructions

  3. Gradually mix in vegetable oil and vanilla extract. Stir in red food coloring.
  4. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until edges pull away from the pan. Roll the warm cake in a kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar and let cool.
  6. For filling, beat cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and heavy cream; whip until fluffy.
  7. Unroll cooled cake, spread filling evenly, then roll back up carefully. Chill for at least an hour before slicing.
