- 12 lasagna noodles (no-boil)
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage
- 15 oz ricotta cheese (whole milk)
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese (freshly grated)
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 cup fresh basil (chopped)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté diced onions until translucent. Stir in minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground beef or sausage; cook until browned and break apart as it cooks.
- Pour in marinara sauce; let simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with eggs, salt, pepper, and half the chopped basil.
- In a greased baking dish, layer meat sauce, lasagna noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese repeatedly until ingredients are used up.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
