  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup M&M's or chocolate chips (for eyes/buttons)
  • 24 small twist pretzels (for antlers)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt; gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto lined baking sheets and flatten slightly.
  6. Press M&M's into each cookie as 'eyes' and 'buttons.' Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  7. Place pretzels on top as antlers while cookies are warm. Cool completely on wire racks before serving.
