Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup cooked sausage (crumbled)
  • 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper (diced)
  • Salt, pepper, and cayenne to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Fit the pie crust into a pie pan and blind bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned; add diced red bell pepper and cook until softened.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream; season with salt, pepper, and cayenne.
  5. Stir in the cheddar cheese, sautéed sausage mixture, and green onions.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust; bake for 30-35 minutes until set and golden on top.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
