Instructions
- Peel the outer layers of the onions and cut off the top, keeping the root intact.
- Slice each onion into eighths without cutting through the root.
- Soak the onions in cold water for at least one hour to enhance blooming.
- Prepare three bowls: one with seasoned flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with spices.
- Coat each onion by dipping it in flour, then egg wash, and finally panko breadcrumbs until fully covered.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C) and fry each onion for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
