  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup ketchup (plus extra for topping)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until soft and translucent.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onion, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  4. Shape the mixture into an 8-inch loaf on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  6. Bake for approximately 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
